Default Ranting.... King Race Bearings

Both the mains and the rods came out of the box defective. Junk. And a waste of time.

Broke out the mains for measuring last night...found one with nicks in the chamfer (enough to catch my thumbnail), then found another where there was scoring and pitting from the oil groove into the bearing surface. Prepared the return.

Worked on the piston and rod assemblies tonight.... assembling the last rod for measuring... another one with nicks in the chamfer area and alignment issues! That pissed me off!

Ordered Clevites. Now I'm stuck waiting. Has everyone's QC just gone to sh!t? I hear a lot of things. Hoping the Clevites show up good.

What a f'ing waste of time.

Rant mode off.

My machinist supplied my bearings for my build. Clevite main and rod. All looked in real nice shape.

I'm waiting on parts to show up as well. Maybe today.

Never had any issues with King Bearings. We're they still in the plastic?

Yep, they were in the plastic. Probably just unlucky this time around.

I know... heard about some QC issues with Clevite and how King Alecular race bearings were supposed to be on the money. Their tolerances were spot-on for clearance, but that does no good when the material has issues.

Lesson learned.

I hear ya. I'm so behind myself. Cold temps and some personal family things have got me a month behind where I needed to be.

This new situation sucks.

true... King Alecular bearings are good as well as Clevite there are sometimes things that are beyond our control... someone has a bad day at the office and now all their product is sh*t... I'm sure the replacement product from King will be spot on... you just got a bad day batch... sh*t happens
