Krusin’ for Kids Event – Kickoff to Desert Storm!

Teague Custom Marine is thrilled to be co-hosting the 4th Annual Krusin’ for Kids event at DESERT STORM 2015, with Lake Racer LLC and other sponsors!
Those that have been part of Krusin’ for Kids know that this day is very special and made possible by our volunteer boaters, helpers and the wonderful “Kids”. These children and adults warm our hearts with their enthusiasm and joy! If you or anyone you know might be interested, there are several opportunities to get involved.
WHAT: KRUSIN’ for KIDS 2015
WHEN: April 22nd, 2015 from 9am – 4pm
Please be at the Nautical docks by 9am for check-in and a brief driver’s meeting. We want to start promptly as our special guests and participants will start to arrive and we hope to start boat rides at 10am.

WHY:
To give the under-privileged and special needs New Horizons guests memorable rides on performance boats.
To promote community outreach.
To raise money for the non-profit New Horizons organization through silent and live auctions.
To kick off Desert Storm festivities with a fun-filled day of activities, and interaction for everyone.
BENIFICIARY:
New HorizNew Horizons Center is a non-profit organization that provides service to people of all ages with developmental disabilities (including Autism, Epilepsy and Cerebral Palsy in addition to cognitive disabilities).

HOW do I become a part of Krusin’ for Kids 2015?
Volunteer boat drivers are needed for giving rides to our guests from New Horizons.
Dock / Dry land volunteers are needed to assist with loading and unloading boats and help with docking.
Parking lot volunteers are needed to direct kids to the dock area as they arrive.
Life jackets are needed for all participants who receive a boat ride.
Donations of items for auction at DS Open House @ OCM or monetary gifts to New Horizons are greatly appreciated.
Registration Forms: All Krusin’ for Kids volunteers must complete the 2015 Desert Storm registration forms available in your poker run registration packet, or here on the Lake Racer website. The registration form requirement applies to every boat driver, co-pilot / assistant that will be riding in the boat, or anyone else you are brining to help with your boat or be stationed on the docks. You may have already completed these forms when registering for the poker run, but if not please submit your completed forms via email to Jim Nichols ([email protected]). We can also accept them at the event, but completing them in advance is a big help!
Life Jackets: At all times when on board a boat, the boat driver and every boat passenger must be wearing a life jacket. Please bring life jackets for yourself and your crew. Any extra vests are very much appreciated and can be any type of vest: water ski / water sports vests, Lifeline jackets, etc. We will need a variety of sizes on-hand to fit different people of all ages. This is an important element of our day, so please bring any extra vests that you are willing to share during the rides!
Donations: Donations are being be accepted for a silent auction (live auction TBD) during the Wednesday night Desert Storm Open House @ OCM. All proceeds benefit the New Horizons Center in Lake Havasu. Monetary gifts may also be given directly to New Horizons or though the donation form below. This is a great cause, so please share this information to anyone who may be interested!
