Default Sea strainer set ups

Looking for a " better mouse trap" installing new strainer in my 35' fountain. Trying to get a good idea of how to make it look nice and have them easily accessible in the front of the bilge . Any pictures of what you have will be most helpful. Thanks in advance

This required cutting, patching and welding, so you would need a fabrications shop that can work with 316L stainless. I removed the female fittings, patched the holes and had male NPT fittings installed so the shutoff valves could be threaded directly on to the strainer for fewer connection points. I also welded on fittings to attach the flush hoses BELOW the strainer screen so I could back-flush any debris out of the strainers if needed. All fittings were welded in positions to suit the hoses as they were routed in the boat.

When we were building our phantom we used 1 large sea strainer for both engines. It works well with a pressure relief. There is a pretty decent pic of the setup in our thread birth of a 34 phantom in the phantom section. Page 7.

That's funny you posted it. In my general Google search I saw this. And I'm now modeling after it. Thanks for the input everyone. I didn't know the sea strainers could be ordered left and right. Now I know. Looks awesome. Thanks again

You can also get them that swirl the opposite direction like Toilet Water Swirls different below the Equator

I know this is not about where to mount them but if you are buying new. I love my Stainless Marine ones. After dealing with leaking top screw, aluminum top strainers that were a P.I.T.A., I upgraded to them. They weren't cheap but they flow like crazy, have huge collection baskets, and are super easy to open & reseal. Plumbed them with a pair of valves to easily close off when cleaning or flushing the motors.

Please disregard the dirty bilge as they were being test fitted in the picture! LOL

Has anyone ever hooked the 2 sea strainers together for the 2 engines? just wondering if it's worth doing for the redundancy....
