FYI..... The Optimax motors do not have DTS, only the Verado's will work with Digital Controls.

Yes at one time the 200 and 225 was offered dts. I have been told you can still buy dts smartcraft in Europe.....

175HP Verado and up are nice engines when you want the power and efficiency of a four and not necessarily the handicap of the power curve and/or weight.

the previous offerings of 150 Verado's didn't idle like the bigger models... its now a memory as the smallest remaining is the 175HP.. They shift like Glass and the fuel consumption on a heavy boat is crazy compared to other engines.

A pair of clients are running single 225 Verado's. One with 750hours and the other is about 1200hours. Both needed a prop shaft carrier seal at 750 hours... other than that - regular oil (engine and lower) changes and good clean fuel.... Happy boating.

We are going to be rigging our new work boat with a pair of Verado's. One option was to go with the four-stroke series of engines... the average fuel economy was said to be about 20- 30% going to Verado's on our application

pretty sure 225 verado is a 6cyl which is too heavy. thanks anyways!

I think from 06 and up 225 opti's can be had with dts.
