Default Greasing a Coupler -- EXTREME DIFFICULTY - NEED URGET HELP

Guys/Gals little green men from Pluto - NEED HELP!

Got the boat out storage today and was getting ready to put in the water tomorrow. Started perfectly- great oil pressure etc.

I tried to grease the Coupler -- bought the prescribed grease - extension hose made -- everything is clicking. I squirt grease into the zerk fitting -- I CAN'T GET THE GREASE FITTING OFF THE ZERK FITTING. I have tried every which way from Sunday

I have greased zerk fitting more than I can shake a stick at and never had one that the fitting wouldn't come off the zerk nipple.

Does anyone have any suggestions -- there isn't enough clearance to twist the zerk off-- the drive shaft is in the way. The only other way maybe to pull the drive-- definitely don't want to do that!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance

Start the motor. Guarantee grease gun will come off...actually pulling drive wont change anything. I guess no room to get something like a tiny crowbar or allen wrench in there? You might hafta unscrew extension from grease gun and thread something into it to pull with. Little cheap slide hammers are 6mm threads like automotive fender bolts IIRC.

This is plane jane grease gun from Harbor Freight-- I doubt if there were any adjustments. Also I disconnected the gun portion from the hose thinking that it may relieve the pressure-- but that didn't work

thank you

I guess you tried a couple of screwdrivers as pullers? Or clamp some visegrips on the fitting

Ok this will help for the next time:

http://locknlube.com/

But for now, don't pull straight out instead push hard down at an angle to "pop" the fitting loose. Unfortunately I have never been able to loosen / twist the end because it is to greasy. If you can get two hands with pliers you might be able to loosen.

If you are trying to do it wearing a skirt, I suggest trying again wearing your big boy pants.
