When we used to be able to buy them here they were drop dead reliable as long as you kept GOOOD fuel filters on them. One of my customers has a 30KW using that engine with over 40,000 documented hours on it. It is no longer a 30, still carries a 25kw load all day long with those hours on it. Only downtime was when they filled the tank with water, had crappy filters on it and we had to rebuild the injection pump and put new injectors in it at 29k hours..

The 4 b is just a 6 b less 2 cylinders and as long as you service them they run forever ,there is a reason that cummins still use the same block from the start till now .
