Helping a friend of mine buy his first boat. Looked at a 2005 18 Dauntless. The flex in the center section of the floor directly behind the leaning post was significant. He is getting a survey done, but I wanted to check and see if this might be a known issue. I was shocked when we got on board. It appears the entire center section of the floor can be removed with screws to gain access to the fuel tank.

whalers are good boats,,,,,
like any boat with a screwed down acess cover
water gets in through the screws and can rot the wood through time,,,,
is rest of floor around the cover stiff ?
should be as stated rest of hull is foam filled
if so ,,,,and get boat a a good price
pulling the acess cover to have reglassed is pretty common on lots of fishing and ski boats
with screwed down acess covers
