It's no big deal to any of you guys but I finally got my 29 Outlaw to break 78mph (78.3mph gps). The 78mph barrier was a big deal for me since now when people ask "...how fast?" I can round up and say "almost 80".
Why did it take till now? I would have to say it was due to the weather today - only about 80 degrees outside vs. the 95+ we've had all summer.
Speed was with full tank and on flat water. I imagine some of you guys with bigger ball$ could take my boat with a 1/4 tank and find some choppy water and get it even faster.

I'm turning Mirage Plus 27's labbed by Bronson Hill. My motors are HO's and have about 70 hours. I'm confident that if I upgraded to a 33 Outlaw, HO's would be just fine - especially since Dustin Whipple is now offering ECU upgrades for this motor.
496 HO's are stout!!

You guys keep raising the bar!!!
Wait till the 30 Outlaw comes out. People on this forum say it is supposed to run 6mph faster than a 29 Outlaw with the same power. I guess that means a 30 Outlaw with HO's will run 84mph. We'll see. Baja would have to come up with major smoke and mirrors.
I guess the faster I go, it raises the bar even more for the 30!!

Not trying to raise the bar at all.
You said it, a little chop and who knows?
Of course it is safe to assume that all performance boaters want more speed!
Guess I'm going to need Whipples to keep up with you guys.

And then there is High Tide that will kick all our ass.

oh well, going fast does keep you young. it would be against every instinct of mine (and i am sure most of yours) to not want to go faster, REMEMBER: "Speed Changes You"
