Default Looking for Info on Old 1973 Cigarette 28SS Race Boat Possibly Named "El Diablo"

Hi All,

I'm new to this forum, but I've had my 1973 Cigratte 28SS since about 1995. Unfortunately, I have not had a good place to store it over the last 10 years or so, and let it degrade into a pretty sad conditon. I really need to do something with it so I have been considering restoring it, but I would like to find out about the history of the boat. It was an old racing boat in the '70's and the PO converted it to outboards beacuse he kept blowing up the IO's. When the sun hits it just right it looks like it used to have the name "El Diablo" on the side of it. I don't know if it was raced under that name or not. The boat was purchased, and probably raced out of Miami, FL.

When it was raced the following modifications were performed:

I think these items make it somewhat recognizable. I am hoping that someone on here might recognize it and be able to provide some information about it and/or old pictures of it. Any information provided would be greatly appreciated.

The following pictures of the boat are from 1996-1996 when I first got it. Does anyone remember it?

THOSE ARE FREAKING AWESOME!!! THANKS SO MUCH!

I thought it was kind of a shot in the dark that anyone would actually find pictures of it and you found some right away.

What year are those images from? Where did you get them?

I believe the color pic is from around 1974,75,, & the standings are from one of my Powerboat Magazine around that same time. I have collected many pic's & offshore memorability from over 40 years that I have been involved in this sport.

That must be quite an extensive collection. Thanks for taking the time to find them. What is the date and issue on that Powerboat Magazine? I'd like to see if I can find a copy of that issue. If you come across anything else on it, please post it as well.
