Default 496 Vortec Cam Swap to Crane cam?

Has anyone used the Crane cam Grind# HR-226/345-2S-14 IG. Part # 268731?

http://www.cranecams.com/product/car...detail&p=24305

I'm wondering what all engine modifications would be needed besides lifters and springs to run the extra lift of this cam in a stock L18 496 vortec engine?

I asked the guys at Crane and they didn't sound sure

Anyone else run this cam before?

What cam is in it now? I was thinking that was the cam used in that engine or is that the raylor 496 ho that I'm thinking of. Regardless it's a commonly used cam in the marine industry.

Do a search on this form regarding the raylor 496 builds etc. I recall there is a ton of stuff to read up on.

This engine was pulled out of a 2001 truck, so I believe the stock cam is very small:
Duration 204/210
Lift .465/.467

I believe the Mag HO (The difference between these engines just being cam and tuning if I'm correct) was:
Duration 222/232
lift 510/510

I'm don't know anything about the Raylar 496 HO. That sounds like it could be a whole different beast. I'll see if I can find some info on it tho.

Thanks

apparently there is little to no room on those pistons for much more lift-duration without piston to valve interference.
