Default Just sayin Hello

Hello,
Just got registered today and wanted to say hi. Gotta '99 25 Outlaw with a 502 mag. Just got it this spring and having a ball. I do most of my boating on the IL river around the Peoria area. I'm a natural speed freak and sure it won't be long until I start tinkering with this(come from the drag racing ranks). Anyway, I'll pick your brains later on. C-ya

Chose the 25 Outlaw for the exact same reason...Bang for the buck. I wanted to stay with a single engine for the fuel economy and just needed to get some stick time. I also looked at a '95 272 in Michigan with only 130hrs but couldn't beat the guy down 1G before he sold it. I have several friends in the arena that said the 25' was a solid boat. So with the help of several days on the net and 2 trips to Ohio, I came up with this. Just a quick tech question...What kind of prop are any of you running. The boat came with a 22pitch 4 blade and it feels very sluggish. If anyone could help with some past trial and error, I would greatly appreciate it!! Got a bit dissappointed when I gps for the first time last weekend and only got 62.4mph with a full tank of fuel. At this point I just gonna ride it out until next spring, but gotta think 68-70 would be a happy place.

I got cut a bit short yesterday, I was supposed to be ready to go to a family function when the "little lady" got home and got wrapped up in here and lost all concept of time!!

Any rate, THANKS FOR THE KIND WELCOME AND I LOVE THE SITE!!

Welcome aboard! You'll love it here. Heck, I spend more time trying to learn things on here during the day that I do trying to get work done while I'm here at work.

Wish I could help you with your prop selection. Sit back and wait for all the good responses.

My friend has a 25 Outlaw with the 496 MAG HO. I believe he is turning the 23 Rev 4, not 100% sure. He is eeing 67-72 MPH on his speedo. Don't know how accurate that is, but if he can see that with a GPS I would be impressed. Although, I would need to see it with a GPS too.

Good luck with the prop tuning and keep us all posted. Its how we learn!

Mike

Welcome to the board.

I had a 00 Outlaw with 454MPI. Ran a 25P Mirage. Best on GPS was 69.2 (light on fuel and gear).

Hey bajadude,
Thanks! I have been hearing alot of 23-25pitch mirage or mirage+. I'll have to work over one of my buddies to let me test drive one for a day.
