We stayed at the Hyatt . It was ok - It looks like it is "on the beach" but in reality you need to cross a street to get there -- not a big deal. For me one of the best parts was we were on a high floor with a balcony-- drink in hand got to watch a number of boats coming in and out of the harbor and out on the ocean. Lots of restaurants in the area. If you have kids that are going with - there is the aquarium that has "Winter". The porpoise that had it's tail cut off -, was in the movie Porpoise Tail. They enjoyed it!

all the best

Not sure how old you are or if you like partying a lot but shepards is on the channel heading out. They have a mini beach, tons of boats always pull up, bands, and they just redid rooms around the pool.

Can be loud.

Might not stay there but good place to hang out at.

For clearwater beach 100% this.

St.Pete and Maderia are a LOT of fun though as well.
