Question Easiest way to fix stripped out screw holes

I have multiple stripped out holes in the floor for the hardware that holds down my bolster seat bases. They are #10 self tapping threads. This is in my '96 Eliminator Eagle. I believe the floor to be plywood. I'm not taking the carpet out as it's in good shape. So I'm trying to come up with a solution to get these holes closed up enough so the screws work again. I was considering using a tappered dowel or a toothpick and dribbling some 20 minute epoxy in the holes.

If i was to be pulling the carpet out, I would fill these with dowel and re-drill the holes. I know this would be the ultimate fix. But i'm not pulling the carpet, so don't want to go into that much effort to repair these holes.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Fill the holes with wood glue and cram in as many tooth pics as u can. Put a dab of glue on each one to insure that it bonds. Let dry and cut flush with razor knife and reset the bolsters.

My dad - years ago -- showed me that trick -- I can't tell you the number of times I've used it with terrific results.

Thanks Dad!!

toothpick trick works good just make sure you have a full cure on whatever epoxy your using. Fasc cure epoxies tend to be a bit brittle compared to standard cure stuff and it doesn't hurt to toss a little West's 404 in the mix.

I would not be mounting bolsters in filled holes.

Go with these toggle bolts:

or

Grainger has them too, but they are much more expensive.

How do those work? Would be super expensive, as I have about 20 screws per bolster.........
