so I scattered upper with 1/8 slivers so who knows what lower looks like I figure junk . chunked up a few times because I was in a shipping channel and I smelt rubber which I assume was coupler. all I see is no longer availible on b1x what happens on insurance deal rebuilt b1x or ? I just recently purchased this and it schit the bed just want to make the best of it weather I make up the difference or not. also don't want to miss weather were having. If I have to do rebuild can I make her beefier ie xr etc.

Yes, you can use the newer swept-back design. The lowers are identical. No need to go the XR route with a 496 HO. X is plenty.

appreciate all the info guys I was in a panic, yes I have insurance and it will cover it thank god. went with the late model new b1x with newer stuff in upper and fluted top cap. what a mess I guess I will only be without for max of two weeks. even the parts houses talked me out of xr, thanks for the sites griff they were very helpful been a mechanic all my life just on underground mining equipment so not up on these boats but im sure I will, again thanks
