Default Need advice on new speakers for 1996 extended cab Chevy C3500

So I go to pull the door panel off my truck the other day to replace the door lock mechanism and found that the 6.5" speaker in the door has a ripped cone (paper cone). Years ago the rear pillar speakers gave out so I biased everything towards the front. Now with only one speaker working the music sucks. I want replace the 6.5" speakers and tweeters in the doors and replace the rear 4x6 in the pillars. I have thought of replacing the head unit for better response, but with how much the truck bounces (its a 1 ton) I don't think I could press any of the small buttons on some of these radios. My radio right now is the standard AM/FM/CD player that came in most of these trucks. If anyone has a suggestion for a new head unit that does have large buttons I would think about that. What speaker brands and part numbers have others used in this style truck (1988-2000). I dont want to spend thousands of dollars on this.

I also have a stock factory Bose head unit available. Would this be a good upgrade to feed the outputs from the Bose unit into a pair of amps?

Check out Napa part# 586-0002, It's a factory style head unit with a 3.5 mm jack for auxiliary input. A good set of coaxial speakers all the way around would make for a decent sounding stereo.

Check out www.crutchfield.com for exactly what fits your truck. I've bought A LOT of gear from them over the years. They will not be the absolute dirt cheapest, but they send you EVERYTHING you need including all connectors, brackets, and DETAILED instructions. I've never had a bad experience with them.

I don't like a coax speaker that is cut through the middle of the larger cone. If you can find coax speakers where the tweeter is supported on a bridge, that will be a much better sound overall.
