Default Lift points on a '83 Scarab 377

I'm new to the forum...thanks in advance for any responses. I'm building a dock with lift and the dock builder has requested lift points for my '83 Scarab 377. I bought the boat a couple years ago and have been able to find the original owner's manual, but it doesn't have any info on the subject. A quick search on the internet wasn't very helpful either. My dock builder has an idea of where he would put them if we can't find some guidelines...thanks again!

If you really want to know the CG as you boat, you can determine it at most marinas that have an in the water boat hoist....just use one strap and position the strap where the boat is at the balance point (CG) just as it clears the water. Move the boat back and forth until it balances.

Do you mean a cable lift with eye hooks? I would get a cradle lift instead.

If your transom's not super solid, the eyes will rip right out of there.

a submersible cradle lift w/ 4 cradles

1 as close to the transom as possible
1 under the front of engines/rear of gas tank bulkhead
the above 2 would also be bunked so the transom doesn't overhang
1 under the front of gas tank bulkhead (the steps down into the cabin)
1 under the bulkhead at the end of the foot well (where the v birth starts

at least as good as if it was on the trailer.

i overkill the livin OCD outta stuff like that tho, every cradle lift i ever seen only had 2 cradles on them, more like 1 cradle and a v block
hold your arms out to your sides for as long as you can, now thats how your 37 foot boat feels like on 2 cradles, that are minimum 18 feet apart on a boat that length, for more fun throw in 150 gallons of gas right in the middle of the 2 cradles

there is or was a 377 at forest city yacht club in cleveland on a lift that looked like pontoons with a cradle and bunk set up on it.
not home made, the thing was nice, push button it submerged, push button it pumped out the water and lifted the boat

a davit lift or cradle lift needs huge steel reinforced colossal amounts of concrete poured under ground next to the dock / retaining wall to support the lifting system of your choice, as both are cantilevered out over the water.
