Just bought a 2004 Baja h2x with a 496 mag motor. Bravo 1 drive and a mirage 23p prop I believe. Looking for some info/ first things recommended for a little more performance. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks !

Interestingly enough I registered today on this forum as I prepare to get back into boating. How this relates to this post is that my last boat was a Baja H2X. Man I loved that boat.
I had a 2000 H2X with the 454 mag, Bravo 1 a few years back (well, more than a few, more like 10). I gotta tell ya - stock that boat was about as fast as I wanted to go in a boat that size. She got plenty skidish fully trimmed out even with trim tabs.
I had my H2X GPS at 72mph stock. Just me on board, barely a splash of gas in the tank, perfect water and probably a solid tail wind. It's all she had. At this speed and trimmed like this I really didn't feel very comfortable with the H2X. It's a very light and it's just barely holding on to the water (at least mine was). I only did this speed one time to see how much I could get. I could not safely get my H2X trimmed up out of the water in anything more than maybe 1-2 foot (or less) chop. More than that was extra scary.
My suggestion to you would be to run that thing wide open and see how much more you think you'd be comfortable with. Maybe you're have more guts that I do (entirely possible, by the way).
I can only imagine what your rig is like with even more motor behind it. Have you had it out for some hot laps yet?
