Never Happen. Some of the biggest users are merchant ships and I can't see them stopping them.

dont surprise me one bit! The commie-rats here in IL have now required a "water usage sticker" for any non-motorised watercraft like canoes, kayaks, paddle boats, and sail boards because they don't already squeeze enough money out of us for crap they can't afford to pay for!! My parents found out the hard way one day when DNR came up on them and gave them a warning! they have been on the same lake for over 20yrs with a paddle boat on there for the last 15yrs easy and never had to register it or get any other stickers until now!

Is that like an mc or il? number? If it floats in Michigan it needs a sticker and mc #.

nope! The "IL" sticker is required for all motorized and/or sail vessels....in the past small boats like canoes and kayaks and paddle boats etc didn't need registration....unless you had a trolling motor mounted on it (then its motorized).....NOW if your floating on a stupid inner-tube and don't have a "water use" stamp they can fine you!!! Some friends of mine found that out last year floating down a local creek near my parents summer house!!! another way to get an extra $6.50/year out of you.

Totally wrong for Michigan. Check the SOS site for proof.
