Default Does anymore know the value of Mint Condition 2006 Mercury Racing 2.5 outboards?

I bought a 30' superboat last year and it had Twin 2.5 Mercury racing engines on it.... engines have 110hrs; 160 compression all cylinders, both outdrives completely redone by George Fuller's in NJ. Considering going to more of a everyday engine as I do not race the boat. I heard these engines have value on the race circuit..... Does anyone know what the value would be? Model #'s are 2.5 LCLOS and 2.5 LLOS

I would say they are worth in the range of 10 to 12k a piece. I am assuming they have sportmaster lowers and yes there is an elite group of guys that are interested in them as they are the last of the 2.5 motors and are still used in stock class. I am assuming they are 2.5 280s but if you post pics we can give you a better idea.

They are not as valuable on the race circuit as they were a couple years back, but they still have value.. The 2.5/280 with 15" Offshore mids and sportmasters demand the most money. I have seen clean sets sell between 18-24k.

2.5/280 with 20" offshore mids and sportys - 15-20k

2.5/280 with bass mid.. no idea.. lol

But check out screamandfly.com

My recommendation would be the part them out. You will make more money doing that as 2.5 part are hard to come by these days. I sold a set similar to these last year and did much better parting them out than I would have selling complete.
