Going to need manifolds soon on both port and starboard engines. Looking at something a little better than stock to help performance slightly and longevity of the system. For example stainless marine, imco, glm not sure which is better. Really don't want to get into too much modifications to make them work.

Also it seems as though imco and stainless use aluminum manifolds?? Wondering if that's OK with brackish water, boat never leaves the Chesapeake bay of Maryland so its mainly fresh until you get down south.

Any additional information and ideas would be greatly appreciated.

You can switch to merc style dry joint risers. Wont give you much performance bet they will last a hell of a lot longer. Its a little harder than just bolting it on . You will probably have to change thermostat housing. If your interest, email me and I will have you take a few pics of current setup and email you a parts list.

Actually i just read you have an mpi. It might already have dry joint. Will need a pic to determine. Performance wise labbing a prop will be cheaper and probably give as much performance as expensive exhaust.

Yeah I don't think their dry joint, typically dry joint has piping that runs from the top of the manifold to the elbow and mine doesn't.

the GLM alum setup is a slight improvement in exhaust flow, and takes a bunch of weight out of the back of the boat. you really need to build a small block before anything exotic-expensive is needed. Don't even think about the fancy stainless risers that fit stock merc exhausts. 800 bucks, no performance improvement. look pretty, though...

Gotcha thanks. For the most part I'm looking for longevity and reliability, without doing head work I don't think anything will do much for performance other than some weight reduction and a little less restriction. Also wondering if these systems are much louder than the stock systems or do they sound the same??

Where is the best place to get GLM aluminum set up,

dennis moore moreperformance. glm has a website with dealer locator also. there is a non GLM setup on ebay for 700 bucks. moore wants 1k and change. a little google searching will find more options...i have 2 sets. 6 or 7 years old. had a gasket leak form not being installed right originally. pulled em apart and the aluminum faces looked new. delaware river. around philly. very slight salt content.

Just checked out the site, awesome! Just wondering if installing a stainless set of riser pipes (instead of stock elbows) would create any problems though? Any one have an idea?

One other concern I have is with the aluminum manifolds. Even with good gaskets I would think the different metals would cause electrolysis?? Not sure just a question. Otherwise it sounds like they hold up pretty well if you've had them for 6+ yrs.
