Default Info about motor oil pumps

I am looking at trying to make a better motor oil changing pump. I have use the Jabsco unit for so many years and have experimented with many others. The Jabsco unit has done a good job basically if you are doing about 50 oil changes per year and maintaining the impeller and not letting the pump run dry, overheating it.

Does anyone have experience of a better oil pump on the market to build your own system that can handle about 50 to 150 oil changes per year. especially a pump that does not have an impeller or even if it has an impeller.

I have been looking at Reverso as well but think a system could be built for less money and do just as good if not better of job especially for someone that changes motor oil at the marinas. Thanks.

I have a Tempo vac type pump and like it but it does take some more effort because you have to pump it up manually. In my mind its no more work then hookin up wires and has less moving parts so its almost always guaranteed to work.

I am thinking about putting a permanent system on my Scarab to do the oil changes but have a flush mount panel with fittings maybe on the transom or something. I have a pre oiler that i pulled off a boat that will work for the pump. That Reverso seems crazy expensive for what it is really. Yeah i would think you could build that for much less and probably better.

you ever use an air venturi powered anything? . . . . . noisy air hog but that does look like a nice big system.

I have the mityvac 7400. Same deal as yours.

20/50 oil when cold takes a bit, but when warm, it sucks i up pretty quick.

I've had it for 10+years now. Still works great. I use it for many things around work and home.

I bring a 5 gallon 'blue' plastic gas can with me, along with a funnel, so I can empty it's contents into it.

I have waste oil heat at work...so easy for me to ge rid of waste oil. LOL.

I use a holley blue fuel pump, works very well. It was the only thing that could suck the milkshake out when my intake gasket failed last year. Has been very reliable for years.

heads up...dont refer it as waste oil..epa considers that the type of oil you cant burn..cost me almost a grand to get rid of a sealed 5 gallon bucket of just used motor oil that a customer driped off and put the word waste on it.. they consider the word waste not useable at all..phuckin satety clean..thankyou..i also have a used oil heater that only burns used motor oil..ps i also found out that they can only come in your shop if they see a oil container so hide those as well..that bucket cost me a lot of money because it was sitting by the back door and had waste on it..

I was thinking that maybe a good fuel pump would work as well. Good to know it does . . . .
