Default ZX28 Differance between the years

Hi guys, Im looking to become a Donzi owner! Im just wondering the difference between say the 1998 to the 2001 and even the difference in the zx26 to the 28. Im in the 30 to 40k market so that's why Im interested in the differences of the earlier models. I like the twins better for sure. also wondering if the early years have composite stringer or wood? Im in upstate Ny and not to many zx's up here so I want something different. Thanks for any info guys!

I know the transom and stringers are composite in 99 up. There is wood in the cabin floor and decks. Also from what I have read the 28 bottom was changed in 2000ish to be similar to the 26 when it was released in 99. Supposedly the 26 bottom changed in the later versions with more or a pad. I can say the 26 with decent power will run strong anything over mid 70s takes some getting used too. When mine was supercharged it was kind of a handful (chine walked ) to get to wot in the low 80s.

the 98-99 28zx deck/swim platform/transom/cockpit/cabin/sunpad are all together different than the 2000-2008 28zx. while both designs are twin stepped bottoms, the differences remain. I am a supporter of the twins and the twins were not offered in the 26zx. The 2000 and newer 28 zx and zxo measured at 27'7" whereas i believe the 26zx measured out at 26'6" (an owner can correct me, i may be off on my inches). I like the layout of the newer compared to the older but i may be just used to it. Good luck in your search, let us know if you have any other questions,

tom

Thanks tom, Im looking at a zx27 with a single 502 in it. I was told its the same as a 98-99 zx28. I kinda like the single because of the extra room in the engine bay for coolers or whatnot. I want to be in the 29 foot range boat so Im looking at active thunder, Nordic heat, zx28, or maybe a 28 velocity. We will see, Thanks for the info.
