Is there really any difference between these part numbers? 35-802893q01 and 35-802893T The Q01 is labeled Quicksilver and when I run the part number on mercruiserparts.com my motor is not on the list. When I look at my specific motor, it call s for the 35-802893T.

They both directly cross to NAPA/Wix 3226...so yes.

35-802893T is a Mercruiser #.
35-802893q01 is a Quicksilver #.

Works just like CHevrolet and ACDelco. Same part, but different part #'s snd labeling/boxing. LOL.

Mercury and Mercruiser parts ( Black ) go to the OEM dealers and the Quicksilver parts (silver) can go to your Walmarts, Sporting goods stores and your non OEM marine Dealers. Same part but different color and part numbers.

Also Merc dealers (black) most of the time get a better price break on the wholesale buying end except when large chain sporting goods stores and Walmart is involved carry some o these parts. We have a sporting goods store here that carries somewhat a lot of the Quicksilver brands from oils, fuel stabilizers, impellers and kits to flush muffs and more all by Quicksilver. Again all in which are the same as Merc parts

Actually the Sierra brand fuel water sep filters are good to. Not for the Volvo side because they do not catch enough threads.

Sierra sells a 10 micron and 21 micron spin on fuel water sep filters for most apps. They also make an real big extended size one as well if you have the room. for the Mercruiser brand they have 3 different size filters.

Off the shelf IMO RACOR makes the best fuel water sep filters and you can drain them to check for water and contaminates. On the I/O and inboard side you will need to used the ones with the metal bottoms do not use the plastic bottoms - those are for outboard apps

Thanks for the replies. I did get the "Q01" at Walmart and I've been hesitating using it until I found out for sure. I guess I start getting the WIX filters for now on.

I would use any Wix or Napa or Baldwin or Sierra before I would the Merc ones. Cut them open and you will see why.

I picked up the Napa Gold 3225 only to find out it was too long to clear my fuel pump (525efi). I didn't expect the filter to be $17, or am I just a sucker?.
