Customer brought his boat to us. 4.3 mercy I think it's a 20 ft mariner. Anyways. When he brought it to us he had allready taken the drive off. So it needed bellows, humble bearing, and a shift cable. We also had to put the upper and lower back together. (He split them before he brought them to us). So now the problem is. There is no reverse. Put it in forward it works. Put it in neautral it works... No reverse. Pretty sure I have the cables in the right spec so now I don't know what else to do.

Is humble bearing like humble pie ? LOL.
Assuming you made sure the shift shaft was in forward when you installed the drive,
see these instructions for adjusting the shift cable. They are by far the best instructions I've used. I use these everytime a cable get's replaced or someone f*ks with their cable adjustment.

Which alpha one or Alpha gen II. What year model as well ?
The alpha one had a lot of service bulletins
And assuming you had the control box shifted in forward upon installation of the drive...
If you did the install correctly - possible bent shift lever and fork were those 2 meet together.
Also adjustment of shift cable or problem could even be in the control box.
