no. the internals are completely different with a marine vs auto version. start off right, get a marine version.

What's the diff? I think the truck version is rated for less hp. Than marine

i justneed a pair of affordable diesels to get a 40 ft. Offshore boat onplane to run my clients to and from cartagena.

Looking at cummins the 8.3 from school buses with mechabical inj would be easy to mai tain down here. Looming at 7.3 i international and power stroke as to who has marine version but like the 8.3 cummins best but migt be tough fitting them

truck version isn't rated for that load at continuous rpm like a marine version.
bearings are diiferent. the harmonic balancer is bigger(dia) block should have brass core plugs not steel like an auto would.
