Default Stalling 502 mag mpi

My 98 scarab 26 with 502 mpi has developed a stalling issue. I replaced the kill switch (problem happened with old switch also). It doesn't matter if im wot or at 6 knots hot or first start it just randomly cuts off and all gauges drop back to zero. I put it in neutral turn the key off and back on and it starts right up.it seems like what would happen if I pulled the kill switch while running (never done that so not sure)? Is there another circuit? Or area I should check?
this is an annoying problem to have 1 day runs all day next day stalls 3 times on a short trip...

Possible bad neutral safety switch or its connections or it has shorted connections - putting back in N can change all of that until you get running again and hitting waves or by just advancing the throttle.

I would scan the engine to

also possible weak connection / pin connection in your cannon plug in ( main boat wiring harness) check all of that out as well

Found the problem. a nut on the + side of the volt gauge loosened, So the wires would lose contact under certain conditions

I would think your volt gauge had spardic needle readings most of the time. Thanks for fix that would be a very hard one to fix without seeing the boat & volt meter testing in person

Wish it would have, would have been easier to notice lol. Volt gauge read 12 volts and it didn't show any signs of an issue. It reads slightly higher now that its tightened up
