I just received word OPA had to cancel the Detroit Race scheduled for late August. It sounds like they were unable to get a sponsor to step up. This is pretty much the same reason the Gold Cup is no longer in Detroit.... This was a great place to have a race like this as there was so much spectator viewing area on both sides of the river.... I am glad I was able to be part of the 2014 race (as a patrol boat). I really hope they are able to put something together in the future....

What a shame, great spectator viewing race course. Hopefully they will find the sponsors for next year.
