Question What do you think of the new Key West (APBA) course?

Has anyone seen the new course for the APBA Worlds? Take a look and let me know what you think.

Lightbulb That's a new one!

Wow, I hope they at least start it on the out bound leg. That couse is going to be a joke for people going to KW looking for rough water. Turn 6 could be alittle bumpy but 3,4,5 are going to be in shallower water where it probably won't get rough. Last years course was very good but I don't like the looks of this. If they start this with turn 1 being the first turn it could be ugly. I was soooo happy when APBA got Key West back but that course IS NOT what KW is all about.

Thats a great place to watch the race from.

Ryan, right on the money. The rough water section is gone. On the other hand, the spectators will get a much better view of the show. I for one would like all the rough water Key West has to offer, but, we'll setup for what we get. Pray for a storm.

That course is very short. The distance from 3 to 4 used to be about 3 miles if not more.

In 1995 B class we ran 10 laps that were 10 miles long each. The outside leg was way out of sight from land.

Of course this is more spectator friendly and the boats will make lots of laps through the harbor.

What kind of racing do you want. Racer racers or fan races?

There will still be the "hole" out of turn 3, "Where we tore the hatch off the Cig last year", and turn 6 will still be rough.
