Default Dana billit trim tabs "what did I break?"

I Need help with my Dana billit trim tabs.

I lost power to most of my boat and could not find the problem, after some searching I discovered that the breaker was bad and that a sticking on the trim tabs had the trim tabs on for a VERY long time (hours?) causing the breaker trip and would not reset till I moved the trim switch back to the center position. I replaced the breaker and the trim switches. "problem solved" or so I thought.

Then I discover that one of the trim tabs will not work (will not move at all). It make the correct noise (the pump is running when I hit the switch) but the tab does nothing.and, yes here is fluid in the reservoir

So, what did I break by the switch being stuck in the up (or down) position for a long period of time?

Does anyone have a wire diagram for the switches for Dayna Tabs (it is not the same as Bennet or Lynco). I really think I have them wired correctly but anything is possible.

Any suggestions on how to move forward what to do next (I usually fix everything on the boat myself)

Mike

Crack the lines work the switch in both directions and make sure you get pressure out of both lines. If you do the pump is good. If not grab the tab and try and move it up and down with the lines cracked. If it moves up and down with the lines cracked the cylinder is good. Tighten the lines re-fill with fluid and they should work fine. If not you have a bad line or the cylinder is bad.

Are there check valves that are opened (and shut) when you press a switches to allow the fluid to be pushed into the correct line, is that true? How do I know if the correct valve is opening?

It doesn't really matter. The electric motor works off reverse polarity it either spins clockwise or counter clockwise. One hose will have pressure one will return depending on the direction of the motor. If the switch is wired backwards the tab will go up when u press down and go down when you press up.

"Thank you for taking the time to helping me Baja"

I am surprised to hear that. I assume that there is only one pump, what happens if you push both switches at the same time asking the pump to move in both rotations at the same time?

You can't spin an electric motor in two different directions at the same time.

Baja?

I see from a different post that you have a set of Dayna tabs. Do you have the manual? Can you provide me with the diagram of how the switch is wired?

I also see that Dayna calls for 10-30 motor oil... I am surprised to see that, it looks like the previous owner was using something red in color.

So does that mean that you can (should) only adjust one trim switch at a time?
