I'm posting for a friend of mine...
He has a 454 carburated (88-92 330hp) and he wants to buy a Weiand 177 blower from a factory 525SC like this:

Our main questions are:
-what do we need for the timing curves ? many options ? We heard of using a Thuderbolt IV from a V6 4.3L...
-wich thickness we should order for the Cometic head gaskets ?
Thanks

Cast internals on that 330 motor is not your best foundation to start with. I'd look for a 454mag with forged internals or a take out 525sc and be ahead all the way around.
Good luck with your project

He wants to drop a supercharger on a 7.4L with the stock cast bottom end? How many hours are on it? Might be fun for a while until it lets go, and then he will hopefully be close to shore in case a rod goes through the bottom of the hull.
If it is a low hour 454 mag with forged pistons and crank, then he might be OK. Others with more SC experience will chime in, but IMO boosting a motor with cast pistons is asking for trouble, especially in a boat. Good luck with it!
