Default Switching from a Bravo XR to a Bravo 1

I have a Scarab with an XR drive that's broke. I have access to a low hours Bravo 1. What would it take to switch? I realize I'm going backwards but saving money is the key on this one.

Thanks,
Jay

Sweat and tears. Maybe freshen up the bellows and shift cable boot. Fresh gear oil wouldn't hurt either. Your gonna save a little gas since your gonna have to take it a little easier on the B1. Not that the XR is much better or stronger but it will get you back on the water quicker. Should be an easy swap.

The B1 should bolt right up the same as the XR did. Where people have to be careful is bolting a XR up to where they had a B1 originally, this would require a new (slightly thinner) gimble bearing. You should be fine though.

Nice, Thanks!

Turns out I can get a Bravo X, that should be a little better than the 1. From what I can see it should be the same as far as bolting up right?

The gimbal bearing depends on year model and if the outdrive has the newer GKN / input driveshaft and U joints. I have written a story book up here all about it.

The top down shaft broke. It has a sportmaster lower and the gears in it don't feel real good. I suspect the worn lower gears are the reason the shaft broke.
I got a Bravo X with 89hrs complete for $2000. I'm selling the boat so don't want to put a lot into it but I also don't want to screw the next guy. It is a great boat that I hope the future owner will love as much as I have.

that make sence then I would put that 1 x on it and sell it thats less $$ and not screwing the new owner and if it feel like just tell the story then he can make up his mind about it .
