Default Advice on prop for Scarab1

Wanted to see what you guys thought before i throw some money away. 1986 Scarab 21 350mag bone stock no mods with trim tabs. We use it for water sports and a occasional race around the lake. What do you guys recommend for pitch on a good stainless prop? Thanks for any advice, Jamie

Call BBLADEs, Brett will likely get you the right prop on the first try.

Agree with the above. I would start with a 21 + with a 350 mag. I sold the scarab I before the mirage + became standard so never tried it. I still have that 21 mirage and use it as a spare prop on my Baja which came from the factory with a 21 +. Hit a sand bar a couple of years ago and had to put the standard mirage on it and lost 2-3 mph top end.

what do you have now and what does it do? at 20 inch pitch each 2 inch change is 10%. which will raise or lower your WOT rpm by 10%. if you have a 19 and are running 4400 or lower at WOT, i wouldn't go any bigger. if it is aluminum and pieces of prop ears are missing you should try to borrow an intact prop to get a baseline first.
