Default looking to purchase a 1997 260 legend

Please offer up words of encouragement, as MI boating season is winding down, and my family thinks I'm crazy. Buyers market at the end of the season is my thought. Boat has the 502, less then 200 hours on the boat, this will be first high performance boat. First boat I owned was a 186 Rinker, then did some rentals of a 236 Rinker, and a 21 Sea Ray. No laughing please, I offer this as proof I'm ready of an upgrade.

The legend is a very solid all around boat. It will handle the rough, plane quickly and is very solid construction. I love mine. With the 502, should move out pretty well.

I purchased a 260 Legend about this time last year with the 454 Mag MPI moving up from a 21' Stingray. They are great boats and I couldn't be happier with mine. It's not the fastest boat around, I'd imagine with the 502 you would see low to mid 60's, but they do everything well. Lots of space for the size, well built, decent in rough water, especially compared to what you're used to, and you can trailer it easily if you want to. I'd say go for it!

have been discouraged by people misrepresenting boat condition, seems like no matter how thorough I'am on the phone surprises pop up after drive hundreds of miles. Looking at 1996-2000 so for sure not expecting perfect boats, but honest people yes.

In Aug of 14, I was looking at a few powerquests. I found one in Deluth Minnesota that caught my eye. It was a 94 257 Legend with a 454 Mag and a Newer reman Bravo One. After conversation with the seller I was able to find the boat on the previous owners classefied listing (I'm the 4th owner I think) and call him. He told me about the firm shifter cable being the only problem and the condition that he kept it. After talking to him and the current owner, I made the 8hr trip. No surprises, it was nicer than I thought. It seems that people take care of something they are proud to own.
