Default Boatfax 100% Match for ..........Opinions? Anyone W/ Boathistoryreport.com Credits?

I ran a Boatfax report on a vessel I was about to put a deposit on with a broker and the HIN came up as 100% match for "Missing, lost, stolen, or scrapped." The boat is a '97 with 260 hrs., has been re-powered (70 hrs), is from Jersey, and was moved to Florida recently as the trailer has a Jersey plate.

My very first thought is Hurricane Sandy victim (sunk), but I don't know how to find out more exacting info. Does anyone have any insight on how get more detailed info? Does anyone have any boathistoryreport.com credits they aren't going to use and would run the HIN# for me? I really don't want to drop another $40 just to find out the same thing......I'm already out hundreds to sellers misrepresenting their junk.

The broker contends they have a clean report and will send it, but we all know they are just out to make a buck any way they can.

Thanks for any insight!
Keith

Gotcha, thanks for the reference.

Still awaiting proof from the broker debunking my report, then I'll run a Boathistoryreport.com and go from there. Still hoping someone has credits left I can use.

I'm just glad it didn't come up salvaged from being sunk etc. The broker has searched high and low with the state and can't find any issues with the current title. I'm gong to go through the contact info. on the ad in post #8 above on Tues. to be sure it has all be cleared, recovered etc. Worst that happens is I get the $2k reward toward the boat purchase fund!!
