Hello, I have a few ECM questions. I have a pair of blown 572's with what I was told was Mercury Racing 555 ECM. I broke a low water pick up hose on my boat at around 100mph and that sprayed one of my motors with a lot of salt water ( big mess ) anyway the water got into one of the plugs on the ECM and corroded it up pretty good. So much so it ate up one if the pins and it broke off when I was cleaning it. Now that I have to ECM out of the boat I see the part number is not 885557 it is 859610. So question is does anyone have or know where I can get one of them. The sticker on the ECM said its from an 2002 HP 525 EFI. Next question is if I can't find one will the newer 555 work with the wiring harness I have.
Thanks
Thanks

mercruiser for the HP 525 is listing for the first gen serial number groups PCM 555 part number is currently is 879148T73 and before that current number it was 840947005
the HP 525 started in 2003 and yes your PCM could have date stamped 2002 on it.
if the parts number I listed above can work for you then i can get it thru Merc. Of course that will be the stock tune for the first gen HP 525 Mercruiser. That part number you provided does not show for the HP 525 .

Thanks for your reply. I guess maybe I was looking at the wrong number, the other number on the label is 85961026 under that on the label is 840947-4 PMC 22001000. Still none of those numbers match the ones you found. I have my ECM at Whipple now to see if it can be fixed but I don't have good luck like that so I'm planing to buy a new one and have it tuned. Could you please get a price on one for me.
Thanks

Your PCM is probably is app specific calibrated / retuned in some shape and form. I have no idea but a HP 525 is smaller displacement than a 572 CID modified engine. This will require more fuel and air and timing at the very min. compared to the stock MERC HP 525 closed cooled engine in which is all PCM specific in the calibration in itself.
IMO I do not see how a 100 % completely stock 525 MERC PCM can work for your 572 CID engine and however your ignition set up is.. Let me know what exactly you want and or need. I really will not sell you anything that is a complete guess here and or unknown. You need to go back to the builder for this info so that you can get the right PCM and calibration. Thanks and still can get you OEM stock Mercruiser parts that you need if they are specific correct for your app or any apps.
