Just curious if there were any runs going on this late in the year. The Chesapeake region may be over because of the cooler weather. But maybe further south.

I don't think so and I was thinking the same thing.

It seems like every year, events wrap up prior to Labor Day. I wish there was a formal fall run as a way to end the season in style. I know a few guys do a couple of informal things in the Northeast (Oneida Lake, Hudson River, Ct River) and they are interesting, but that tells me there is a market for something bigger and more formal. Perhaps in late September or early October.

There is the Key West Poker Run in November, around 12th to the 15th I believe.

yes the key west is the last run I believe. witch im participating in for the first time this year so Im very excited!

Good point and one that I had not considered. Pretty far for me,but I'm sure an awesome event.

The problem with planning a run in the Northeast late Sept. and beyond is water levels drop, sometimes significantly. Not as much while on the water but getting on and off (launching and retrieving) can be a huge issue, especially for larger boats. My club does the run in July on Seneca Lake (ROPA Battleship Run) and, as it is one of my favorite lakes, for years I've wanted to do a fall foliage run there in Oct. However the water levels had dropped so that there is not a launch that would be acceptable so I have been unable to do it. Some are very shallow beyond the launch and you are just in mud or stuck and some I could get the boat off the trailer but wouldn't be able to get it back on. We haven't had any real rainy periods since June so the water is going down fast.

I found that one. I'm just not sure if I want to run down 95 to florida again. Everytime I go there something breaks. I was looking for something a little closer.

I do a fun run up the Hudson river that is planned to be Oct.17th we now have about 23 boats see the run listed in the northeastern section.
