Default Boat Theft Report Suggests Downward Trend

Interesting stuff, http://speedonthewater.com/in-the-ne...downward-trend.

The good news? Go-fast boats didn't make the top-five list of vessels stolen.

It has become fairly cheap and easy to gps tag equipment. If it moves you get notified. A friend with a heavy equipment business had a break in recently, they just stole a new gooseneck trailer and some truck tires right off the trucks. (all un-tagged) Then they went down the road and stole a bobcat and some other equipment. The bobcat was tagged and the cops tracked it to a salvage yard where they found a whole laundry list of stolen property.

Thief's must surely expect high value equipment to be tagged these days.
