Hello guys!! after being my whole life loving the pachanga22.. (my father got one in 1986) finally I bought one last week.

It has a lot of things to do on it.... but I´m so happy of having it.

Its a 1988 pachanga with a SRX 7.4 motor on it... With alpha one drive that is already broken inside... and trying to find the best way to fix it.

Switch to a Bravo and that will fix the problem. I ran an Bravo X drive on mine with a 496 stroker engine and never had any problem. Great boat.

congrats! I can totally relate to your excitement. I had wanted a Pachanga since I was 8 years old and first saw them in 86 as well. (my dad unfortunately did NOT purchase one) I actually like the red it's a nice way of being custom, but doesn't try to hard like so many paint jobs I've seen people put on these boats over the years. great little boat, I question to this day if I should have ever sold my 91.
yes the BBC/alpha combo is definitely a sore spot. but as 1BIgJim mentioned you can always convert to a bravo with a shortie. I have no real experience as I had a worked over small block with mine, but I've also heard guys say they've run alpha/BBC combo's for years just being careful not to pull too hard trying to get on plane and being sure to pull off throttle when airing it out so as to not put a sudden hard torque on the drive on reentry.
