Default OPA Nationals to be held in Englewood

At this time OPA Racing must announce that the Nationals that were to be held in Ocean City, Maryland has been cancelled and cannot be rescheduled. We would like to thank the USCG of Ocean City in issuing a permit for the possible reschedule of the Ocean City Grand Prix in such a short manor. However, we are unable to go forward and reschedule this race as we are unable to secure assets required to produce this race and has been deemed impossible as they are unavailable.

We would also like to thank the City of Ocean City, Phil Houck & Bill Purnell in their efforts in trying to produce the race in Ocean City.

The OPA Nationals will now be held in conjunction with the OPA Worlds in Englewood Beach, Florida!

The National Championship race will be held on Friday, November 20th. This race will be the finale of the OPA National Race Series and determine the National Champion in each.

The World Championships will be a culmination of points from the race on Friday, November 20th and conclude on Sunday, November 22nd. Both days of racing will be full length races with full points awarded for each day.

Thank you Ocean City people for doing your best to have us race there. Its still my favorite place to race and cant wait for next year. Looks like Florida is the grand daddy of the year. With the money we all have left over from our budgets now this is going to be more do able for more teams now. Cant wait to tear it up!!!!!

Closest hotel and I think only hotel on the Key. Lots of VRBO and Condo rentals also.

Go to the OPA website for the Schedule and course mapping: http://www.oparacing.org/race10.html

Visit the Englewood Beach Waterfest website for the Hotels & Rental Agencies supporting the race: http://englewoodbeachwaterfest.com/accommodations/

Thanks for the update Dee. We're trying to coordinate getting all the gear down there, some before, and some after Key West.. Couple Questions:

- Looks like a pretty open pit area, are we gonna be restricted on what we can bring in the pits as far as Moterhomes and support trailers??

- Would we be able to start setting up or at least park in the dry pits as early as Monday 11/16??

- Is there any suggested place to pre-stage equipment if we are not allowed to set up early or are we on our own??

Thanks.

Kev
