Default Handheld GPS for Key West

We are newbies to the ocean. We have a Garmin in the boat but I would like a handheld backup. Any suggestions?

Looking at Garmin Colorado now.

Navionics on your iPad or iPhone is a great backup.

You will never be out of sight of land if you are doing the poker run.....the darker the water the better (deeper) and the crab traps are always in deep water so if you see the traps the water is deep enough but they are a hassle to avoid in some areas.
