if you are doing multiple colors you'll want to use a quality basecoat/clearcoat system. ive always been a PPG guy and the DBC/2021 system has always done me well. There a lot of good finishes these days though, ive not used Duponts line in years although I am getting ready to shoot a Skater in another week or two in Imron. Great stuff but better suited to single colors.

If you have multiple colors you can use axalta (dupont) chroma premier. If your not gonna clear within 24 hrs put a little bit of activator with base example 12305. Then put imron elite or similar on top. This is same way all formulas, tiaras, etc are done. The new imrons are user friendly and sand and polish like butter. Don't get me wrong they will still bite you. Or what Dave said. On starting from scratch I like spies hecker but we do a lot of the formulas here so for warranty reason we use axalta good luck
