Default Does anyone know the prop nut torque specs for Herring prop on IMCO SC 1.24" lower?

It is a 6 blade Herring prop. IMCO SC -3 Lower with 1.25" prop shaft.

Thank you!!

I posted this here because it says only gold, silver platinum etc can participate in the Prop section. Thank you in advance if you know the answer.

I have never seen anyone torque a prop before. I use a regular box end wrench and a small block of wood to wedge between the cave plate, snug then another maybe another 1/8 turn.

Well you did not say adjustable wrench and hammer so you must be serious. I torque all my props to spec. Bravo got 55# they call for 55 with Flo-Torque II hubs and I go 60#. I don't want to lose this prop or have to paddle or get towed back to the trailer after losing my prop..... Looks like you have twin engines. It may cost more but it is definitely peace of mind to have two of everything.

Anybody know?

Has anyone ever lost a prop because there nut fell off ? Lets hear your stories. I personally have never heard of anyone losing a prop due to the nut working its way off. Been using a block of wood and a breaker bar for ever. I replace the nut every so often only because the nylon is worn from putting so many props on and off after every race and test session.

Technically there is a torque spec for every fastener, But common sense goes a long way. I agree with Typhoon. And if you you don''t have common sense....well????????????

I've always just gone to snug with no play, then maybe a flat to line up the tabs to bend.
Always worried about over tightening.

No tabs on this size prop shaft mercury hub kit. My old bravo 1 drive had the nut and tab setup with the flo-torque II for 1" shaft bravos. The flo-torque II for 1.25 shaft size just has a thick washer, a coned medium thick washer and a thinner flat washer. I am at 65# now so I guess I will just run it like it is. Thank you guys.

I am one of those torque wrench weirdos from all the work I have done on my side by sides. If you don't torque things like A-Arms and primary and secondary clutches right you will get a bad ride or bushing failures or have to walk or get pulled back to the truck and trailer if you spin off a primary or secondary or chew up a belt if you get the primary too tight. I got lucky and got this over 2K prop for 600 and I don't want to lose it. (it was part of a matched set before the owner lost the L hand prop when it fell off)

Supposed to be windy on the lake today, can't wait to air out this cat like it should be. Shooting for 93+ MPH.
