Dual prop vs single

Have single bravo 3 and backing to dock is one of the difficult moves to do if space is tight. How much more difficult would it be with single prop on a 28'boat be if any?

Just wondering did you clock the propellers when you put them on? I herd the first prop goes on with one blade straight up and the second one is down. Anyone want to comment I want to here thanks.

You don't have to time the Bravo three props. It will dock better with the Bravo three vs a single prop. You don't have the P factor with the bravo three. But some like the P factor as it will walk to the side better.

I have clocked over a 500 ( NO BS) of Bravo III and Volvo Penta DP apps since they came about and have never heard one bad thing but 9 out 10 times the comments were positive feedback always. I tell the end user - hey tell me if your boat handles a tad differently or drives however. I would never tell them what I did. Again 9 out 10 would respond with comments like my boat steers better in corners or my boat planes a tab better or my boat is 1 to 2 mph faster or my boat seems to track better and so on. I have a customer up here and he can comment the difference when we clocked his props. We even GPS before and after - Bravo III with a 496 - 26 ft boat added 2 mph and planed off alot quicker when props were timed properly. I will see if he can chime in about the 2 test runs as he never heard of such a thing. So I proved it that it can have positive results inwhich it did..

it makes sense that timing should make a difference, especially as speed increases. . . . . actually makes a LOT of sense

I agree with what is said - Bravo III should track and back up better than a single app.
What are the condition of your props?

Volvo penta use to teach clocking the props in their OEM factory classes. Currently they take the same position as Merc " you do not need to" I still currently do it with positive results. I am telling you I have clocked those so many times and tested on so many apps that it will produce a positive result and or results.
I even do it for the Volvo DPX drives
Blackhawk drives in the OEM service manuals shows the clocked positions upon installing them. Just saying and I realize that drive is a whole different animal all together.

Just remembered at one time Merc did want you to clock the Bravo III props as they listed it in their service manuals. Sorry for so many posts here. Click on link and scroll down to last page to see a Bravo III with the props installed and timed correctly.
