So how does one go about testing bottom changes before making them permanent?
For example, lets say I want to bond a temporary strake to the bottom for water testing? What materials are used?

First time I saw this done was around 2002 when I was at the Sunsation factory checking out the first 288 MCOB and the buck for what would become the first (and only of that hull design) Innovator. Wayne was under a boat with sections of strake make out of wood screwing them into the bottom. I thought, "that's crazy man!" Lol!

The ole carlson boys in the texas days used to use bondo.. prob a polyester filler like dolphin glaze. Just for lake testing. You will prob need a second set of special trailer bunks at the ramp for that program. And a weekday off .
