I've heard that it's a "NO-NO" to turn the steering wheel side to side, hard stop to hard stop without the engine running ? Asking because I'm needing to bleed my new hyd. steering cylinder (which is hooked up to the power assist cylinder) and boat is in storage for winter.
Thanks
Thanks

it is a very popular install especially for Formula Boats of 24 to 28 BR models and for many others. Its a Sea Star Solutions add on system to get rid of the cable. They a division of Sierra aftermarket marine parts but located in Canada.
Who is the highly regarded tech of 28 years that said this info ?
read away from the owners manual

Can you post the model number of what you have there, I actually know the engineer for these apps and can ask him for a 100 % conformation about that as I never heard of that causing failures of the system by turning it while not running. The only thing that can happen that I am aware of is putting air into the system inwhich is not good.
The big warning of this system is never fab or alter or cut the fluid lines and never get contamination running thru the system especially water, trash, rust and so on.
