Are there any twin 28s with a higher x dimension than 17.5"? Will i pick up any speed rasing it? Whats the fastest twin 28 and how was it set up? Will i struggle to get on plane with a higher x?

Anyone have any good or bad experiences?

How is your bravo conversion going?

What a job it has been. I researched and research before I started and thought I had most everything lined out. Boy was I way off. Way over budget which is how most projects end up. Boat is hopefully going to the fab shop to get the tails made next week. Id like to be on the water by memorial day which is not to far fetched but we will see. It has been fun but, I wouldnt want to do it again.

Any pics? Hope many hp are your motors?

I need to update my membership and ill get some pics up. Engines are supposed to make 650 plus. Not sure if I believe that or not. Previous owner told me it would run 90 all day and I never saw anything close to that. Really anxious to get it finished up.

It is done, seems like everytime i get one thing done two more problems pop up. I had it out 2 weeks ago and it wouldnt get on plane. Had a buddy stop over and we were looking at the drives and thought that they looked like they needed some negative trim. I did a little research on here and he asked a few guys he knows. What he came with is there is a bolt in the trim rams that has an extra long head on it. Merc sells different length bolts, so instead of ordering the bolts from them I cut 3/4" off of the head and that dropped the prop shaft almost 3 inchs. I went to cumberland this weekend and rode with some friends so i didnt get a chance to take it out. Going to try and get it out this week. Have a set of 4 blade 30p bravos and a set of 30p 5 blade maximus. I've been mean to get back on here and put some pictures and do a little write up, but every chance i have i spend it on the boat.

Went out last night and the boat got on plane cruised very good. At 3100 rpm the cruise was 50-51 mph. Not sure what it was before but i know it wasnt that. It rode just as good as before but with less porpoise. Not sure if this makes sense but the boat felt lighter, rode higher. Over all im very happy with everything. Something isn't right with the plugs wire cap or button. It would only turn 5k at 76 mph. Both motors were back firing through the exhaust. The transom was very very black. I ordered everything from jegs tonight and it should be here tomorrow. Hopefully the weather will hold up this weekend and ill get it back out.

My 99 28 used to run 76 on the speedo at 4700-4800 rpm with 28 pitch four blade bravos.
