Question Going to Bimini by boat in March from Miami. 2 questions please.

1) Is mid-March still iffy as far as the water being somewhat snotty ?

2) Will there be a problem with Customs if the owner of the boat we arrive on is not with us, nor will be at any time ? I see they ask for boat name ( to check Coast Guard documentation I assume ) and/or registration papers.

In other words, can you arrive (and stay) with a boat that you dont own/arent listed on the registration ?

Probability is fairly high till about end of March. However if you want to roll the dice there are good days and bad days.... Less than 50/50 this time of year.

Done it often weather wise the later in March the more reliable and good the weather will be.

As for the boat get a document that asserts you as the Capitain from the owner with his contacts and you should be all right when you report in Bimini.

Customs will just want their $300 fee (paid in cash only by the way).....they won't care who is driving the boat! Think of how many boat captains arrive in other people's boats/yachts.....non issue.

March can be rough but a guy just stole a 13 Whaler from Key West in November and took it 90 miles to Cuba so it can be done it just might not set any speed records!

We went 5 months ago.......but chartered a plane instead! The stingrays will hang around more if you feed them, we used cut squid and carried it in solo cups.

Love Bimini Sands vs. the North Bimini options. My 14 yr old did this whole video, filming, editing, posting on youtube.
