we're only 1/2 way into the off-season, and significant events have taken place:
1) randy kent has announced pbc speed racer MTI is for sale, thus reducing the UL class field
2) broadco has bowed out of offshore
3) envy is TBA for 2016
4) stihl is expected to debut their new cat
5) what becomes of the sarasota summer race now that opgp has gone, and sbi is committed to marathon?
6) speculation seems to indicate sheikh hassan in al-adaam 96 may be interested in returning to racing
discuss/opinions?

With BC out, its good news PBC has entered the SB class. Hopefully we'll see Stihl, WHM, Amsoil, Cleveland Construction, and Performance Boat Center running all season long. Maybe HP Mafia too.
Reliability and attendance in the SBU remained poor throughout 2015; MGR needs to sort out their engine program in the offseason, to be competitive with the CMS tag team duo. Herb needs to launch a reliable turbo program for Envy by Clearwater, or they are at risk of exiting stage right. We'll miss seeing the rematch of Speed Racer vs Gone Again at LOTO.
As for Hassan and Al Ad'am Offshore...who knows....there has been barely a peep since the auction ended last month...

as for the engine failures, yes that is on the racers but still affects SBI and those that come to watch. not much excitement in seeing boat after boat idle in on one engine. the their credit (as much as I hate outboards) the stock class guys have the best class and races. we used to race an average of 120 miles every race. now these guys cant make 50 miles on a course that is smaller than Lake X was, and we always complained how small it was.

I agree back in the day when u raced milk was .50 cents a gallon and boats didn't run 150/170 mph. Sorry u r unhappy about boats falling out for mech peoblems. Just keep in mind it cost these teams 100 of thousand every it they idle in . All of that to put a show on for someone like you, and they did it all for nothing other then to put a show on for the fans that appreciate it.
Times change and every team tries to come as prepared as possible. If you are that disappointed possibly you should consider being a spectator at a different sport. It's discouraging for teens to read post like yours, and then think that they want to do it all over again to put on shows the people that don't appreciate it and spend tens of thousands of dollars doing it.
