I used to have the same issue with my Avalanche cladding. The stuff that wouldn't run and streak the paint would last a week and the stuff that lasted longer would streak the paint so dang bad if truck got wet. Also had a fuzzy truck when the cottonwood was flying a few times. Total PITA. I ended up repainting it all with 3M Vinylclad satin paint. Held up very well with proper prep to the plastic.
Guy at work had an Avalanche as well that always looked good. He used some stuff that was sold on TV but I can't remember the name of it, it wasn't cheap either but it did last.

The GM solution was called "Gatorback" and according to the Avalanche forums "Refinish Restorer" is where it's at.

I have used the Refinish Restorer on my Avalanche and it worked amazing!

Wizard's black trim restorer works very well but once again, a time or two in rain or car wash and it is gone. Turtle Wax trim restorer just left a friggin oil slick all over the truck. Might as well just wiped some SAE 30 wt over it (which I have done before on my old Dodge. Actually worked well.)
