I am looking int doing this on my 255 Formula Liberator to stop an annoying water leak.

Anyone done this ? Any tips or tricks ?

Are you talking about the windshield frame to the hull or the glass to the frame? I had to reseal the port windshield glass to the frame on the 86 242 two years ago. The glass was barely held on with the old sealant. I very carefully pulled the small plastic trim moldings off and lifted the glass out while cutting the remaining sealant with picture hanging wire. dug out the old sealant out of the frame, wiped it down with brake clean and cleaned the glass really good, and used regular 3m clear silicone sealant to stick it back in. I also had to space the glass up with small wood shims because it would fall all the way to the bottom of the frame and leave a open gap at the top. After a day I snapped the moldings back in place and was good to go. I don't think it is as critical as a car because a car has to be water and wind tight.

If talking frame to hull I used the most dense weather stripping at Home depot, smashed between and cut off whats not needed..
Just a FYI, In a pinch I have also used toilet bolts in replacement of the windshield hold down T bolts. They are made to hold toilets down to the floor and not corrode or rust over decades. More then enough for a windshield.
